We enjoy our work and help one another stay on schedule, reducing our own worries, and delivering a better service experience for you. We know you are here to relax and enjoy!

Your experience here at OlyCurl will have you waited on and served by one, two or even three people! We are focused on one thing and that is to make you feel (and look) like royalty. We want to make your day. Behold! You are about to learn our secret to happiness!
Are you ready? Here it is: We don't pay commission. Not on service sales and not on product sales. Have you ever walked into a business and were immediately accosted by a salesperson before you even have a chance to breathe? They were hungry; you could feel the pressure... and you didn't like it. We don't either. So we have purposed to be different and offer a unique and enjoyable experience. How can this be? We compensate all of our staff by salary. What this means is that no matter what the schedule holds or what's happening in the salon, our stylists and support staff are getting paid.
By compensating our staff with a "Team-Based" system, it allows more flexibility for our clients and enables us to function more efficiently to the comfort and convenience of our guests. Can't get in with your favorite stylist or you just want to try someone else? Go for it! We don't mind. We actually encourage it! The entire focus of our team is to ensure every client's needs are met with excellence. We want our clients to revel in their experience. This counts for products too. When we make a product recommendation, it is because we sincerely believe it is the best product for your curl type and texture and not because we are trying to make a commission on that sale. Our one-of-a-kind OlyCurl Prescription is given to you so that you can see what we used, how much we used, and how we used it. No hidden agenda here. The same goes for services!

Yukiko
Owner of OlyCurl Inc., Yukiko has brought curly awareness to our community by introducing her methods to Thurston County and beyond. Her curl education includes being a Deva-Inspired Stylist, Head Shape Matters Certified, and she has been a Certified member of Curly Hair Artistry since 2013. Her passion for both curls and business is how OlyCurl Inc. was born. While away from work, Yukiko still enjoys working with her hands on projects like crocheting, knitting, sewing, and embroidery. You can also find her video chatting frequently with her 4-year old granddaughter, or hanging out at the beach with her husband and her sweet dog Luna.
Kelsey
Kelsey has been with OlyCurl for a little over two years now! She graduated from the Gene Juarez Academy in 2012. She is a people pursuer and seeks out education for knowledge of the latest and greatest curly techniques to satisfy any head of hair she encounters. She is inspired by nature and spends her summers at the beach and her winters in the mountains. Kelsey is a vibrant, free spirit who absolutely loves the ocean and traveling back to her home in Hawaii. When Kelsey isn't working you can find her at a crystal or plant shop; at home caring for her current plant-babies, spending time with her husband and daughter or getting in her daily dose of nature. Next time you're in, say hi! She loves to talk story. 🤙🏽
Cassidy
Cassidy joined our team beginning of 2023. She is a super sweet and fun-loving gal! Her natural introverted tendencies bring a sense of calmness and peace to the salon. On top of beauty school, Cassidy received advanced curl training at Left Coast Salon in Tacoma. Cassidy is a motivated stylist who also looks to expand her knowledge of curly haircare through the continuation of education. In her spare time, you can find Cassidy expressing her creativity both on a canvas and in the kitchen, or loving on her two cats, Una and Teddy.
Aralea
Aralea is our newest salon assistant and is about to embark on an apprenticeship journey. She began learning to embrace and take pride in her own curls in middle school after a tragic relaxing mishap. Ever since then, she became inspired to join the industry to help other curlies feel the same way! When Aralea is not working, you'll find her outside in nature or inside making all sorts of crafts, reading, and cooking up something delicious. Aralea also has a beautiful Yorkshire Terrior named Bootsie who loves to keep her company on walks at the park.
Kimberly
Kimberly is our wonderful morning receptionist. With a heart to serve others, Kimberly has a passion for people. She says "I believe that in order to remember people, places, or things requires an emotional, memorable, and satisfying experience." She comes to us with many years of customer service experience and prides herself in the joy of making people feel special, with a warm welcome. Kimberly's favorite part of serving people is seeing the smiles on their faces and knowing that she can give them something to feel good about in their day!
Jillian
Jillian is our lovely evening receptionist. She is a very down-to-earth and kind soul. Jillian is a former cosmetologist who took on other roles in the customer service field upon having her beautiful bunch of five children. Her warm demeanor and funny jokes are a much needed pick-me-up in the later day! She is an absolute joy and has an amazing taste in music. You will hear her playlist bringing the good vibes here at the salon. For fun, Jillian enjoys karaoke every now and then or kicking back at home with her kids.
