No pushy sales, no pressure—ever. Our staff is salaried, which means any product or service recommendation is made with your curls in mind, not a paycheck.

Can’t get in with your usual stylist? Want to try someone new? Go for it! We encourage it. Everyone here is focused on your results and comfort, not keeping clients “claimed.”

Yukiko

Meet Yukiko, founder and visionary leader of OlyCurl.
With a bold mission to bring curly hair care to the forefront, Yukiko has spent over a decade pioneering curl education and awareness in Thurston County and beyond. A Deva-inspired stylist, Head Shape Matters certified, a proud member of Curly Hair Artistry since 2013, and an Associate Trichologist and Hair Loss Practitioner, she has built her expertise with intention, passion, and a drive to empower others.
Yukiko’s leadership shines through in every corner of OlyCurl—from the personalized experience offered to clients, to the mentorship and growth she cultivates within her team. Her love of curls and business is what sparked the creation of OlyCurl, a space where authenticity, education, and creativity flourish.
Outside the salon, Yukiko continues to lead by example, channeling her energy into hands-on hobbies like crocheting, embroidery, and watercolor painting. She finds balance and joy in time with her grandkids, beach walks with her husband and their pup Luna, and in nurturing both people and ideas.

Kelsey

With over three years at OlyCurl and a Gene Juarez Academy grad (class of 2012), Kelsey brings laid-back warmth and deep expertise to every curl she touches. She’s always chasing new techniques to better serve every texture and pattern that lands in her chair.
Rooted in aloha and inspired by nature, Kelsey splits her time between the ocean, the mountains, and her ever-growing collection of houseplants and crystals.
Whether she’s perfecting a curly cut or swapping stories with clients, Kelsey radiates care, curiosity, and island soul. Don’t be shy—say hi! 🤙🏽

Keni

With over 20 years in cosmetology and a background in visual arts, Keni brings both skill and soul to every service. Hair, skin, nails—she’s mastered it all, turning each guest into a living work of art.
Originally from the East Coast, Keni now thrives in the Pacific Northwest. When she’s not in the salon, you’ll find her in the kitchen crafting global dishes or keeping up with her energetic, blended family—lacrosse games, taekwondo, and all.

Rae

Rae's love for natural hair was born from personal experience—after a harsh relaxer in middle school, she began embracing her curls and found a passion for helping others do the same. Now apprenticing at OlyCurl, she’s channeling that passion into learning the art of curly hair care, one guest at a time.
Known for her radiant brown ’fro and fearless hair color choices, Rae brings warmth, creativity, and authenticity to every interaction. Outside the salon, she loves crocheting, thrifting, cooking flavorful vegetarian meals, and hitting the trails with her beloved Yorkie, Bootsie (who’s been known to charm the salon now and then).

As our Lead Curly Concierge, Jillian brings heart, humor, and the perfect playlist to kick off each day at OlyCurl. A former cosmetologist turned customer service pro—and proud mom of five—she blends industry know-how with genuine warmth.
Her quick wit, upbeat energy, and killer taste in music set the tone at the front desk (trust us, her playlist is a whole mood). When she’s not welcoming guests, you’ll find her singing karaoke or enjoying the beautiful chaos of family life.

​With a Master of Fine Arts and a Head full of Ideas, Erica brings a unique blend of artistry and warmth to OlyCurl. As our front desk dynamo and social media content creator, she’s the creative voice behind the scenes—and the welcoming one you’ll meet when you walk through the door.
A passionate reader, clothing designer, and couples photographer, Erica lives for love stories, good lighting, and soulful connection. When she’s not curating content or caring for clients, you’ll find her cooking something delicious, exploring the outdoors, or lost in a book that makes her swoon.
